On a large submittal, fill in Only these pages with the schedule
page numbers. Most pages of one are purchase orders, estimates and cut
sheets, and reading them costs money for nothing.
Pick the submittal or RFI PDF, then press Start. Choosing a file
does nothing on its own — you can change the settings or swap the
file first, and the button tells you what it is about to read.
Wait for the bar to finish — roughly ten seconds per page. Leave
this tab open.
The .xlsx lands in your Downloads folder
automatically.
Open the “Review” tab first. Anything the tool had to guess, or
could not find, is listed there. Fix those before using the workbook.
Step 1 — settings
Leave blank to read the whole document. On a big
submittal most pages are purchase orders and cut sheets — naming
just the schedule pages is faster and much cheaper. Page numbers in the
workbook still refer to the original document.
Check the schedule before changing this. If a set covers
20 openings and lists 40 continuous hinges, that is a total —
pick the second option and each sheet gets 2. If it lists 2, it is
already per opening; leave the first. Guessing wrong is wrong by however
many openings share the set.
Plain English, for this one document. Use it when a run
comes back wrong or misses something — say what you can see and
re-run. It is read alongside the schedule, so it can correct the tool
without waiting for the tool itself to be changed. It applies to this
run only and is cleared when the run finishes, so a note meant for
one kind of import can never carry over to the next.
